Galangin is a secondary metabolite from the group of flavonoids that is especially present in the roots or rhizomes of Galangal (Galanga, Blue Ginger) and Fingerroot (Boesenbergia rotunda, Chinese ginger).
Galangin is characterized by a sharp taste and has in laboratory (in vitro) antioxidant effects.
